Camp Wallula was originally a boy's camp on the eastern shore of Little Lake Sunapee. In the early 1970's Chris Bottinger converted this extraordinary 28 acre site into a colony of rental cottages for a lucky few. The property consists of 10 homes ranging from small seasonal cabins to larger year round traditional homes. In addition - there are six buildng lots within the community. In 2009 Chris and his wife Karol were given permission to offer the homes and lots for individual purchase. The 28 acres which includes 450' private waterfrontage on Little Lake Sunapee will remain "common" land. New homeowners at Wallula will own their homes and a parcel of land around the home. The community is serviced by town water and a private road. Association fees are anticipated at $450 annually. The waterfront offers fantastic sandy-bottom swimming. There are boat docks for canoes, kayaks and sailboats. There is some limited availabilty for motor boat docking. When the kids want a change of venue - take a 5 minute walk to the Town of New London's public Bucklin Beach- a fantastic stretch of white sand with picnic pavilions, a playground, swimming and boating lessons and many types of boats at your disposal. Twin Lake Villa - a 110 year old summer resort is also located within a 5 minute walk. The "Villa" offers public use of a beautiful 9 hole golf course. Rarely a wait for a tee-time - the course offers stunning water views.
